Guitar lessons are typically scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday in time slots as follows:
Monday through Thursday from 3:30 – 5:30 pm and 7 – 9 pm
Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm
Lessons may be scheduled weekly or bi-monthly (every other week), depending on need and availability. Once a lesson schedule is agreed upon, that day and time is reserved for you for as long as you continue lessons. This way you can plan your calendar months in advance and know exactly when each lesson will fall.
For example, if you schedule a bi-monthly lesson on Thursday at 7 pm, then every second Thursday at 7 pm – without exception – will be reserved for you. This usually begs the following questions: What happens if you need to miss a lesson? What if a holiday falls on a lesson day? Read on!
When you have a full roster of students, finding open time slots for makeup lessons can be very cumbersome. Because of this, Jim offers no makeup lessons. However, he understands that sometimes life happens and so there is flexibility built into the schedule in the form of “lesson passes”. In a nutshell, lesson passes are a set number of times during the calendar year that a student can miss a lesson for any reason and not have to pay for the time.
Lesson passes have two benefits: they allow for emergencies, illness, school functions, vacations, sporting events, and more on the part of the student without the pressure of paying for lessons they cannot attend; and they also allow the studio schedule to stay intact for Jim without the pressure of finding open slots for makeup lessons. It’s a win-win!

Jim,
I met you at First Friday’s, I was with Roseanne. I am very interested in starting lessons. I was hoping you may have some evening slots open as i work in Chevy Chase and it is hard to get home before 6 at times.
Thanks,
Brad
Brad,
Great to hear from you! I’m sure we can find something that works. I’ll email you and give you some options.
